It's similar to OS X Spotlight Search in this regard. Its searches are fast, and it also searches file metadata and text inside files. I want to use the "Windows Search" functionality, which works from an index that is built by Windows from user data folders on a local drive. (1) Searching a folder from File Explorer (that's what Windows Explorer is called in Windows 10) performs a search by filename only, and it can be very slow since the files are not indexed.
